Abruzzo Italy

Meeting Genaro at his farm in Abruzzo, where his family has made olive oil for generations n the same land, form the same trees and seeing the pride in his face is an unforgettable experience.  Then taste the oil that has just been pressed - everything comes together.  See his face, look at his hands while he holds the olives and tells you that these olives are from trees that have been on this property for years

Visit Ortenzia who presses olive oil in the back of her family home and than taste her oil on her patio with cheese and Salami she lovingly puts before you.  But wait, this is not it, her mama is inside preparing the family lunch and is only to delighted to meet the visitors.  Does this give us a new appreciation for food , travel, and authentic ingredients?  Will you look at things differently now.?  You bet!  Ortenzia's Olive Oil from Abruzzo is proudly displayed in my olive oil collection.  Each time I use it, I remember her smiling face, her young daughter coming to say hello and help her serve the treats and her Mama in the kitchen giving us all kisses and hugs when we met.
